On all occasions, a minimum of smart casual dress is required in the clubhouse. For certain specific events gentlemen are required to wear jacket and tie.
In defining smart casual dress this policy attempts to find a balance between retaining suitable standards of dress and recognising changes in fashion and the need to attract and retain members. It is impossible and undesirable to make a comprehensive list of what constitutes smart casual wear and much is left to the common sense of members. However examples of what is allowed are:
- Tailored shirts specifically designed to be worn outside trousers.
- Tailored knee length shorts
- Smart, well- fitting jeans
- Smart trainer type shoes
Examples of what will not be allowed are:
- Vests
- Shirts with logos, advertisements, numbers etc. excepting the makers discreet motif.
- Golf shoes, other than in the Sports Bar (formally known as the Spike Bar), running / jogging style trainers and on the first floor of the Clubhouse, hats and waterproofs.
Members are encouraged to remind other members (courteously) of this policy if it is felt they are not complying with it. Those not complying with the policy will on the first occasion be asked to move to the Sports Bar. Continued non-compliance with the Dress Code will be brought to the attention of the Management Committee.
Members are responsible for their guests and are asked to bring the Dress Code to their attention.
